Sian Pattison

Sian Pattison is a singer who participated in Series 11 of Britain's Got Talent. Before her audition, she explained that she gets 'really nervous', and also that her daughter applied on her behalf. Pattison is a mother of three children. She worked as an accounts manager at the time of her audition and lived with her husband. She is trained in voice, musical theatre, piano, keyboard, & flute under the London College of Music & The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.[1]

Simon stopped her midway into the song she had chosen to sing, stating 'It was so jolly and happy and horrible that it wasn't emotional', then asking her to sing 'With You' from the musical Ghost. After she had sung this, Simon then commented 'you were so much more relaxed, and I felt we were listening to who you really are', whilst David commented 'It was like watching a caterpillar turn into a butterfly'.

Controversy[]

After her audition, it emerged that she had already worked as a professional singer as part of an ABBA tribute act, including performing as part of 'Strictly ABBA', leading to some websites calling her act a 'con'. She had also performed at private & corporate events for over 15 years prior to her audition. Sian remarked upon how she felt 'battered and bruised' and how the description by many of her act being a con had 'put a massive dampener on what should have been a positive experience'. She did not progress to the Semi-Finals, allegedly because of this.
