Urban Gypsies are a belly dancing group who reached the Semi-Finals of Series 2 of Britain's Got Talent. Before they performed, one member stated that they wanted to 'promote belly dancing around the world for the older women'.
In their audition, they danced to Indian music, wearing large dresses and red hats. They began by dancing in a line, before splitting into smaller groups and dancing together. They then moved back into one main group and finished their act. Their performance was buzzed by Piers & Simon. Amanda described their performance as being 'Very entertaining [and] very energetic', however Piers remarked 'I think you've proved single handedly that dancing is for young [and] fit people'.
In the Semi-Finals, they danced to 'Hips Don't Lie' by Shakira. The act began with one woman dancing in the centre of a horse-shoe shape created by the other women, before dancing in one line, before splitting into two lines, which merged into a formation. For the rest of the act, they alternated between this formation and the line. Piers buzzed their performance. Amanda remarked 'I'm glad the girls are still very abundantly free', with Simon adding 'We asked you to put on a better second performance, which I think you did'.
