David Hasselhoff is an American actor and singer who was a judge in Series 5 of Britain's Got Talent. He joined the show alongside Michael McIntyre as replacements for Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell, however the latter returned for the Semi-Finals of the same series, completing a four-judge line-up which has been the standard ever since.
In September 2011, three months after the series had finished, rumours began circulating that Hasselhoff had been 'fired' from the show, with an ITV source stating that he 'had no connection with the acts' and that this was reflected in the acts that the panel put through. It was also mentioned that his inability to distinguish the accents of the participants was also an issue. In November 2011, Hasselhoff confirmed via his Twitter page that he would not be returning to Britain's Got Talent. This news came two months after McIntyre's decision to quit the show; the pair were replaced by comedian David Walliams and singer Alesha Dixon.[1]
In Series 15, during a performance by The Witches, judge David Walliams joked that his greatest fear was 'David Hasselhoff returning to the show'.
