The Big BGT Wiki Clean-Up!
Hi all!
We're at the stage now where we have a pretty comprehensive Wiki on Britain's Got Talent - every series, every judge, every contestant we can get our hands on is documented. This is fantastic, and I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed to this for their hard work!
Given this, I think it would be good to shift the main focus of the site towards looking at the quality of pages. For the first phase of this, we will be looking at the sizes of pages (in particular, Contestants) to see if the pages need to be cut down. The more words in a paragraph, the less someone wants to read through it - readability is key!
To look at this, I have created a set of word and paragraph limits for Contestant pages on the wiki. I have also created a…

A Guide to Referencing on the 'List of' pages and the 'Non-British Acts page'
Okay so I don't think that referencing on the list pages is always entirely clear. Fortunately after fixing a reference today I managed to figure out how to sort out some things in terms of adding our own references to these pages. The reference that I fixed today was for Up & Over It on the 'List of Acts from Ireland' page with these references having been added recently, so due to having fixed the references beside that acts name within the table I will be using that act as an example. There are two basic strands to adding references on the list pages such as the 'Impact of Britain's Got Talent Contestants on The Official Chart', the 'List of Acts from Ireland' (etc.) pages, and the 'Non-British Britain's Got Talent by Nation Page'. The …
References
Hello all! A while back I made the decision that it would be a good idea to add references to our pages. However, I sort of introduced this in a haphazard way with no clear rules as to how to reference (my mistake!) I'm going to rectify that now with a nice helpful blog post :)
- 1 Why/What Should I Reference?
- 2 How Should I Reference?
- 2.1 Visual Editor
- 2.2 Source Editor
One of the great things about this Wiki is that amyone can edit it and add in new information! However that also means that anyone can add in incorrect stuff and chances are we'd all just accept it as fact. For example, someone could pretend, say, that drummer Kieran Gaffney has currently embarked on a European tour - this is totally incorrect but sounds plausible enough for us all t…
Top 10 Most Read Pages
Pete used to do this on the forum before he discontinued it some time before it became discussions. However I have made the decision to revive this in Blog Post form. This may either be continuous (As I will not make one on a weekly basis), or I will remove the previous weeks on a weekly basis in order to make space for the new Top 10's.
Update 1: UCP is very buggy on my device, so unless these bugs are sorted I won't be contributing to the site, once it migrates to UCP. If these bugs are sorted this blog post will continue, however if these bugs are not sorted this Blog Post will not continue (UCP wikis give me at least 8 bugs which make FANDOM impossible to use upon them).
Update 2: Should have really gotten to this sooner, basically I can…
Episode Pages
With Episodes pages now being allowed upon this wiki, here is an example of how they should be made, for any newcomers to this wiki who wish to make episodes pages. Below is an example of how to make a page for an episode where no guest judge was present (In later series when adding Golden Buzzers add a column in the accepted & rejected sections of the page for Ant & Dec so that way it doesn't look out of place with them having but a singular column beside their Golden Buzzer, but only do so in episodes wherein they give out their Golden Buzzer).:
- 1 Moved On
- 2 Rejected
- 3 Moved On (Simon Cowell)
- 3.1 Moved On (Louis Walsh)
- 3.2 Eliminated (Simon Cowell)
- 3.3 Eliminated (Louis Walsh)
There are two rules to making Episodes pages upon this wiki, which this pa…

Why we should all be kinder to The Singing Souls
If you're in the loop with social media, you may have heard the current situation relating to Zoe Alexander, a lady who auditioned for the X Factor in 2012. The story goes that she came on as a P!nk tribute act, the Judges slated her for it, and then she got irate and stormed off stage, telling the Judges that they 'told her to sing a P!nk song'. Or at least that's what we all saw on TV. It's now come out that Zoe was in fact pushed by the producers to sing a P!nk song, was kept waiting for hours by them, was forced to take part in an hour-long interview about P!nk, and then when she finally got on stage and the Judges slammed her for 'choosing' to be P!nk she finally cracked. This basically reduced her entire credibility to being a 'bad X…
A Guide to Adding Information to Pages: 2020 Update!
Hello all! Thought I'd give this guide a few tweaks to account for the decision changes I've made in the past couple of years, plus to account for the changing userbase. I've also added a few readability tips at the bottom. BGT Wiki is very free-and-easy as to what you want to put on your pages. This is why we don't use infoboxes or other templates that only someone with a Masters degree in Computer Science can use. However, it would be great if you could roughly follow this format:
- 1 Person Name
- 2 After BGT
- 3 Categories
- 4 Tips
Person name is an (type of act) that auditioned/reached the Semi-Final/Final of Britain's Got Talent in Series X. (any other information such as age/location can go here).
In their audition, they (description of act). Judge …
Your Wildcard Picks
The last eight years have armed the judges with a wildcard as well as the golden buzzer. Another question here to have a plainly put and small blog post this time, if you were on the judging panel who would you discuss to be the wildcard. Also if you saw yourself as all three to four who would you put through? Please remember that I believe the wildcard must be a semi final act who lost the judges vote. So there are five to choose from year by year. So to but it plainly, which act would be your wildcard? If you can get Series 6-13 with them congratulations. If not better luck next time with your attempts to get them all in future on another blog post maybe. So back to the question, who would be your wildcard on a yearly basis if you can me…
Your Golden Buzzer picks
The last six years have seen the golden buzzer, a great and outstanding tool to give acts an instant gateway to the live semi finals. This tool is a great one, and we may not all agree with the golden buzzers that the judges decide on, however we are not the judges! But this begs the question what if we were? From the past few seasons that you remember who would you if you were a judge have chosen as your golden buzzer act? For extra brownie points you can note which acts you wanted as golden buzzers from series 8-13 so far, or if like me you only remember the latest season you can just put that one, well that's a lie I remember minimal bits and pieces of the two previous seasons. For me a 2017 golden buzzer if I were a judge would be Ned …
Stephen Mulhern
Stephen Mulhern is the presenter of Britain's Got More Talent. He have hosted the show together since Series 1, and have been given the same Golden Buzzer rights as the Judges since it's inauguration in Series 13.
- "Unbelievable!"
- "Doosh!" (punches the air)
- "Ship out!": Followed by Stephen assuring the viewer/Ofcom that he did say "Ship" with a 'P'.
- "Hot potato!"
- "I'm losing the will."
- "This is actually happening..."
- "No way, Pedro! Not on my watch!"
2019: David J Watson
Stephen Mulhern plays several running jokes in More Talent, mostly of a self-deprecating nature concerning the state of the spin-off show as well as his own notability as a TV personality.
- Introducing himself as "Stephen Mulhern, star of stage and screen." Stephen is sure to constantly …
Ryan Long's Official Renewals for Britain's Got Talent
Ryan has officially renewed Britain's Got Talent for Season 2. Ryan will return for his second year of judging, along with David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and Simon Cowell. Stephen Mulhern will also return for Britain's Got More Talent. The auditions took place between January and February of 2018.
Ryan has officially renewed Britain's Got Talent for Season 3. Ryan would have returned for his third year of judging, along with David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and Simon Cowell, but he's not from Britain.
Ryan has officially confirmed that Season 3 will be his final season since Simon renewed this show till 2019 before Ryan left.
A Guide to adding information to pages
BGT Wiki is very free-and-easy as to what you want to put on your pages. This is why we don't use infoboxes or other templates that only someone with a Masters degree in Computer Science can use. However, if you've got no idea where to start, here's a brief outline of what you could add to your pages.
Person name is an (type of act) that auditioned/reached the Semi-Final/Final of Britain's Got Talent in Series X .
In their audition, they (description of act). Judge A said/remarked/exclaimed/look-in-a-thesaurus-for-more-words '(this)', whilst Judge B added '(this)'. (if they got kicked out at the audition stage or the second round, say that here).
(Repeat for Semi-Final and Final)
If they did something of note later on in their career, add this …
Ryan Long (BGT Judge)
Ryan Long is a judge of Britain's Got Talent. He has been in this show since Series 11 and Series 12. He said he will be finished judging on the Britain shows since he's not from Britain and he's from Canada. He confirmed to stop judging on Britain shows after he signed up to judge Series 12. He could have seen himself judging for Series 13 since he enjoys this show over X Factor, but due to him not coming back to the two Britain shows, he will not be judging that year.
2017: Reuben Gray
2018: Calum Courtney
2019: The Vardanyan Brothers
He has been judging two other shows. The one other Britain show he used to judge was "The X Factor (UK)" through Series 13 and Series 14. He was going to judge for 4 Series but he gave up judging Britain shows …
